After doing a lot of testing with WordPress I realized how expandable this free open source project really is. At a first glance WordPress simply seems like a normal blogging script. Yet, this simple blogging script can be used to do many different things. It can be used as a content management system. Meaning you can create static pages using the basic installation of wordpress. |
Below are some ideas I thought of that WordPress could be used for:
News website: this can easily be done by just posting the latest news and you will have built in rss feeds for your users. You could also allow people to sign up and submit their own news.
Article directory: This can also be done with ease I did it here: Article Directory
Membership site: You can use some simple plugins to create a membership site. If you do however want get more complex you can visit amember.com as they offer integration with wordpress.
There are many other types of sites you could create using wordpress. I just wanted to share that a simple script can be used to do many different things if you put your mind to it!
